5 of son of Netflix Song Kangs best fashion looks: the star of hit K-dramas Sweet Home and

South Korean star Song Kang – also dubbed “son of Netflix” for his leading roles in Netflix original dramas – has returned with another hit series on the streaming platform, My Demon, a global top 10 TV show in the non-English category.

Song plays a heartless demon named Jung Koo-won who loses his evil powers after falling for a cold but captivating heiress Do Do-he, played by actress Kim Yoo-jung.

The seasoned actor, who’s known for starring as a male lead in romances, is one of the most sought-after stars in South Korea.

Song made his debut in 2017 with a supporting role in the TV series The Liar and His Lover. He eventually landed his first leading role in 2019 in the Netflix series Love Alarm, taking on the role of a high schooler who falls in love with his best friend’s crush.

But his 2020 role in the webtoon-turned-Netflix horror series Sweet Home is what put him on the South Korean entertainment map. He also demonstrated his versatility by proving that he can tackle roles beyond the handsome romantic male lead.

His good looks have garnered plenty of attention from fans and brands alike. In 2020, Song was named ambassador of South Korean cosmetics brand Banila; he later also landed ambassadorships with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Italian fashion house Prada.

From head-to-toe leather to prime and proper, we look at Song’s five unique takes on fashion.

1. Skin in the game

Song, who has more than 16 million followers on Instagram, often shares his looks on the social media platform. He also regularly appears on magazine covers and in fashion shoots. In a recent shoot with Elle Korea, the actor appeared in an all-leather ensemble featuring a leather vest plus a pair of leather trousers.

This isn’t the first time the actor has been spotted in a heavy dose of leather – in another post, he is photographed wearing a knee-length leather coat from Prada.

2. Seeing colours

The star isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd and often opts for bright shades. Whether it’s an all-red sweatsuit or a mustard-yellow jacket, pops of colour bring a good dose of energy to his looks.

3. Suited up

Prada is known for its fresh takes on the classic suit. Song wears a number of Prada suits, from those with bold shoulders to pieces featuring a modified mandarin collar. While he’ll sometimes pair his suits with a classic tailored shirt, he’s also not afraid to embrace the shirtless look, wearing a jacket sans shirt.

4. Classic accents

While he can be playful with his fashion choices, the actor often goes for accessories with timeless designs. In one look, Song pairs a Cartier Tank watch with an all-black outfit; in another, he pairs a gold and enamel Clash pendant, also from Cartier, with a blue jumper and jacket.

5. Dressing down

Oversized sweatshirts and jumpers are Song’s go-to when he wants to take it easy. From blue and pink hoodies to cosy cable knit jumpers, he pairs his dressed-down pieces with trainers from Nike and Vans.
